MacTipper Blog Donation Drive

As is the case with all things, running a blog isn't free. You have hosting fees, software, time, and supplies. Which means that I must do the dreaded thing of all bloggers, which is to ask for money. I'll do two things.

1: I'm going to be having a donation drive all week. (Aug. 19-24) Which means that I'm going to post a reminder every day.

2: I'm also going to be straight-forward with you. Mostly because I really hate it when people say, "I need money" but don't tell you what they need it for, or, they beat around the bush making references and hinting at it.

With that in mind, here's what I need money for, and how much (in order of importance).

$50 for hosting fees.
$70 for Snapz Pro X (video edition)
$130 for OSX 10.5 Leopard
$260 for Contest prizes.
All the rest will go towards a new macbook.

Why donate? Well, for a couple of reasons. Mainly, because I can't buy this stuff that I need. And through everybody donating a little bit, we can raise the money easily. In addition, it keeps me from needing to put ads on the blog. Also, consider this. For geek squad (yeah, I know, windows, but that's besides the point) it costs a minimum of $159 just for one hour of training. So, since it takes me about 30 minutes a day per tip, and if you just found one tip useful, that would be $80! But, I'm not asking for that much. I'm only asking that you donate $10-$20. (If you don't have that much, any donation is appreciated.)

As a final incentive, (if what I've said isn't enough) if you donate $15+ then your blog/business website/whatever (assuming it's not inappropriate) will be put inside that grey box on the top of the side bar. So, more people will find their way to your blog.

With that all said, here's how you donate.

Step 1: Click the donate button.

Step 2: Fill in the info for a donation.

Step 3: Donate!

Step 4: If you donated more than $15 then email me at mactipper@gmail.com telling me you did. Also include the website (and title) that you would like in the grey box. (Ex. Website: http://www.mactipper.com/ Title: The MacTipper Blog)

Step 5: Wait for a confirmation email from me. (I'll reply to your email saying that I've recieved the donation.)

Step 6: Look in the grey box for your website to appear. (It should appear by the following sunday. If not, email me and complain.)
